Nikon Books
As with any other hobby, there are many, many books about Nikon cameras, accessories, and the like. This page is about those books I've latched onto, and, hopefully, enjoy.
Nikon F Nikkormat Handbook of Photography (By Joseph D. Cooper & Joseph C. Abbott)
Cooper and Abbott were considered Nikon insiders, who put together an extremely valuable resource on Nikon cameras and lenses in mid- 1968. Original versions of the Handbook of Photography were published in a loose-leaf binder fashion, to allow for easy updates. Later versions were hardbound. Several varieties of their books are available through on-line auction or book sites. The Handbook was published well into the 1970's by Amphoto Publishers. I have the two-volume set, published in 1978.
Nikon Data (By Paul Comon & Art Evans)
Comon and Evans wrote the book on Nikons, literally. While many of the descriptions are brief, the price guide in the back is worth the price for this gem. While it's pricy on Amazon ($20+), one can occasionally be found on eBay for less than $10. I bought mine way back when it came out in 1990, and have read it cover-to-cover many, many times. Nikon Data was published by Photo Data Research.
